BTV Market

Saturday, September

A Burlington summer favorite is back! Join us for the BTV Market, a summer artists and makers market in the heart of downtown Burlington, taking place on four summer Saturdays. Stroll through City Hall Park and find artists, designers, handmade goods, delicious bites, and one-of-a-kind finds. Whether you're looking for prints to decorate your room, jewelry to add some style, fun crafts, or just connecting with your community of local artists, this is the place to be.

Party on the Bricks

Church Street Marketplace

Each week, the party pops up on a different block of the Marketplace, spotlighting one of our amazing restaurants and featuring a band or performer. Think patio dining, dancing in the street, cold drinks, good friends, and warm summer nights, all right here in the heart of Burlington.

Una Passeggiata - Wednesdays, 5-8pm, through September 23

Bring your family and friends to participate in the centuries-old tradition of the Italian passeggiata. A passeggiata is a traditional evening stroll in the central square of a town by its residents. It's an integral part of Italian culture that brings out everyone, young and old, to socialize and connect with their community. It's a time to shop, enjoy an aperitivo or ice cream, and even stay for dinner at a local restaurant.

For more than 40 years, Burlington City Arts (BCA) has been a place where creativity thrives, and community comes together. From world-class exhibitions to public art, festivals, classes, and camps, BCA’s programs are rooted in a deep commitment to making the arts accessible, meaningful, and reflective of our city.

Burlington Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront
Burlington, Parks, Recreation & Waterfront (BPRW) cares for the City’s parks, natural spaces, facilities, and beaches. BPRW connects the community to opportunities for environmental conservation, indoor and outdoor recreation for all ages, and special events, while striving for equity and accessibility in Burlington’s public spaces.

Burlington Electric Department
Burlington Electric Department is the City’s municipal electric utility whose mission is to serve the energy needs of customers in a safe, reliable, affordable, sustainable, and socially responsible manner.

Church Street Marketplace
The Church Street Marketplace is Burlington’s iconic four-block pedestrian marketplace and the heart of downtown, where locals and visitors gather year-round to shop, dine, and experience the city. With major events and steady daily foot traffic, it drives visibility, connection, and economic activity at the center of it all.

Department of Public Works
Every Burlington resident and visitor relies on our services in some form every day. We produce and deliver potable water, collect and treat wastewater, manage stormwater, construct and maintain sidewalks, roads, and other capital infrastructure, manage the traffic and parking systems, maintain the City’s fleet, ensure compliance with fire and life safety codes, pick up recycling, and more.

Department of Racial Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
The Office of Racial Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (REIB) is committed to advancing equity and social justice by championing diversity, inclusion, belonging, and anti-racism. REIB enhances representation in city government through decision-making bodies, community engagement initiatives, and policy development processes.

Fletcher Free Library
The Fletcher Free Library’s mission is to inform, enrich, and nurture a community of lifelong learners, as an essential partner in Burlington’s economic, social, and cultural growth.

Love Burlington
Love Burlington is the citywide marketing and storytelling platform dedicated to Burlington’s small business community. Whether you're headed to the waterfront or wandering Church Street, Burlington has plenty of parking options to get you there - street parking, the Main & Winooski lot, the Marketplace Garage, and don't forget the Downtown Garage, where your first two hours are FREE (entrances on Cherry, College, and Battery streets). All meter and city garage parking is free on Sundays! Pay at kiosks with a credit card or coins, or download the ParkMobile app ahead of time to pay and extend your stay right from your phone.

Summer in Burlington extends well beyond downtown. Every Friday night, the South End Get Down fills the city's creative arts district with live music and food trucks. Over in the Old North End, the Ramble brings the neighborhood to life with its own vibrant mix of community events and local flavor. Every Saturday morning, the Burlington Farmers Market is a summer staple - a gathering place for fresh local produce, artisan goods, and a little taste of what makes this community special. And then there's the waterfront, which truly comes into its own in summer.

The Burlington Waterfront comes alive in summer with concerts, festivals, and community events. The Vermont City Marathon kicks off the season in style, drawing thousands of runners and cheering spectators to the lakefront each May on Memorial Day weekend, making it one of the most energizing times of the year. In July, Waterfront Park hosts the Vermont Brewers Festival, where dozens of craft breweries gather against the stunning backdrop of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. Higher Ground's Concert Series hits Waterfront Park at the end of July with a lineup of cool and vibrant musical acts. August also features Dragonheart Vermont's Dragonboat Festival, a lively competition that raises funds for Vermont cancer survivors and patients. Come September, Grand Point North brings world-class live music back to the water's edge for a festival that feels uniquely Burlington.
