June 7 - September 27, 2025 | Select Saturdays | 4 - 8 pm | City Hall Park
Join us every other Saturday for the sunset shindig of the season at the Twilight Block Party! Burlington's newest downtown event merges the best of Twilight and the BTV Market with music, vendors, art activities, small bites, and more!
The Twilight Block Party will run for 9 sessions from June 7 through September 27. Four of the sessions will feature themed markets, highlighting Juneteenth, Pride, Carnival, and Vintage.
5PM: Kick off the evening with Jon McBride’s Big Easy, traversing the roots of funk music–early jazz, blues, gospel, and Caribbean styles–playing songs that have entertained audiences for generations. Their skillful musicianship is rooted in jazz and blues traditions but draws on varied experience and eclectic taste, yielding a unique and modern approach to these storied melodies. Captivating group interaction and melodic improvisation leave listeners and dancers of all ages hungry for more.
Introducing a distinct sound to the evening with their original instrumental ensemble, Burlington-based The Discussions balance highly arranged compositions with psychedelic and ambient exploration. Led by composer Greg Rothwell, their sound incorporates a cinematic approach, using techniques of minimalism and stylings of jazz, rock, and new age, creating a layered sound. The Discussions treat their music like movie scores, invoking imagery and building from beginning to end as if following the arc of a storyline.

Next, Boston Rock-Pop band, Copilot, ramps it up with an electric live performance propelled by a powerful triage of singers and strong rhythm section that travel all over the emotional spectrum. Copilot is known for its upbeat bounce and steady groove that locks in the band’s signature retro rock-pop style and myriad of musical ideas.

5PM: With thoughtful lyrics and upbeat grooves, Emma Cook’s music will draw you into stories of spice racks, motherhood, moon phases, climate change, and every feeling in between. A “formidable songwriter and instrumentalist”, Cook performs on guitar and piano and has a commanding and expressive vocal range [Seven Days VT]. Her powerful presence, vulnerability and humor onstage reflect her delightfully melancholy experience of being human.
Next up, Boston-based Americana band Cold Chocolate fuses folk, funk, and bluegrass to create a unique, genre-bending sound. Featuring Ethan Robbins on guitar/mandolin and Ariel Bernstein on drums/banjo, Cold Chocolate promises a high-energy evening of original songs punctuated by tight harmonies and skillful musicianship.

5PM: Complete with upright bass, drums, a couple of guitars and hushed harmonies, Sheepskin opens the evening playing liminal parlor music for your favorite dive bar. From Northern Vermont, the four-piece births a delicate and sincere combination of folk, spooky-country, slow-core, and jazz-infused slacker rock.
The Albany Sound continues to delight with Vermont stars Lowell Thompson, Michael Chorney, Pat Melvin and Jeremy Fredrick on the stage. Lowell’s songs make up the heart of The Albany Sound and they complement their repertoire with renditions of rarities by The Faces, John Prine and others. The band honed its sound—a rich combination of American country, folk and rock—with a weekly residency in Bristol, Vermont.

5PM: The evening’s opener Baby Fearn grew her roots in Vermont as a singer, performer, and glitter-loving pansexual. After she released her first EP, Amber Walls, she knew that music and performance was her purpose. Her music explores a mix of pop, jazz, musical theatre, soul, and rock. Whether she’s being playful, flirty, or introspective, Baby Fearn strives to spark joy in everyone in the space, so come hang out and enjoy the show.
Kitbash brings a 5-piece Burlington-based collective to the stage that pushes indie rock into uncharted sonic territory, delivering tight grooves in odd times. "Kitbashing" is the act of breaking apart ready-made materials, and fusing them together into new and unexpected creations; the band takes this ethos of hacking and experimentation into the musical realm, weaving disparate influences into a one-of-a-kind high-energy sound.

5PM: The Leatherbound Books blend pop-tinged indie rock with crushing low self-esteem to create music fit for a solo lap at your local roller rink or a ride in the back of a mid-90s station wagon. This Burlington-based trio get louder all the time, leaving their folksy roots behind and CRANKING DISTORTION!
Taking the stage next, the Jesse Taylor Band features songwriter Jesse Taylor and local talents Carlton Yost on drums, Nick Treis shredding the lead guitar, and Ian Greenman laying down the bass grooves. Together, they craft a sound that's as emotionally charged as it is electrifying, channeling elements of rock, pop, and punk that feel both personal and cinematic. Jesse Taylor’s songwriting draws inspiration from the mundane to the profound—long shifts in food service, challenges with mental health, and the rollercoaster of human relationships. Fans of Courtney Barnett and Regina Spektor will find a kindred spirit in her candid storytelling and dynamic performances. Not here to fit neatly into your genre boxes, the Jesse Taylor Band promises a musical journey that's as varied as it is authentic.
